About Michael Pompian, CFA, CFP®

Michael is Director of the Private Wealth Practice and a Principal Consultant at Hammond Associates, an investment consulting firm in St. Louis, MO, with over $50 billion of assets under advisement. His duties include servicing the firm's largest family office clients, as well as directing the activities of the Private Wealth Practice. He earned an MBA in Finance from Tulane University and a BS from the University of New Hampshire. Prior to joining Hammond Associates, Michael was a Wealth Management Advisor with Merrill Lynch and a Private Wealth Advisor with PNC Private Bank. Prior to these positions, Michael was on the investment staff of a family office. Michael has had articles published in the Journal of Wealth Management and the Journal of Financial Planning and authored a book entitled "Behavioral Finance and Wealth Management" published in March 2006 by John Wiley & Sons. His second book, "Advising Ultra-Affluent Clients and Family Offices" also published by Wiley was released in May 2009. He has been quoted in Money Magazine, The New York Times, and other media outlets including Bloomberg and CNBC. Michael is married to his wife Angela and has three sons Nicholas, Alexander and Spencer.
About David Caruso

David is a management psychologist who develops and conducts emotional intelligence training around the world. David's services include leader development, career assessment, team effectiveness training, and executive coaching. At Yale University, he is the Special Assistant to the Dean of Yale College. David has co-authored dozens of scientific publications, as well as the Mayer, Salovey, Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test and, with Peter Salovey, the practical, how-to book, The Emotionally Intelligent Manager. He was a National Institute of Child Health and Human Development pre-doctoral fellow and received a Ph.D. in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. He was then awarded a National Institute of Mental Health fellowship and spent two years as a post-doctoral fellow in Developmental Psychology at Yale University. His career over the next 10 years took him in a very different direction. He held positions in market research, strategic planning and product line management. During that time, David led numerous product development teams, trained sales staff, and developed marketing plans in the United States and Europe. As a product manager, he was responsible for launching a line of software products with first-year revenue of $11 million.
