About the author:
This course was created by Michael M. Pompian, CFA, CFP, Director of Private Wealth Consulting at Hammond Associates in St Louis in conjunction with the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) a financial education company based in Toronto, Canada. The course is based on 15+ years of research in the field of behavioral finance. Michael is the author of numerous articles and the book Behavioral Finance and Wealth Management, (published by Wiley and Sons in April of 2006) the first book on behavioral finance to address the individual biases that affect investor behavior, and how financial advisors can best address them. Michael has presented on behavioral finance at many conferences, and is regularly sought out to appear in Bloomberg, Morningstar, Money Magazine and in other financial press for his expertise in this area.
He is a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Securities Analysts (NYSSA). Michael holds a BS in management from University of New Hampshire and an MBA in finance from Tulane University.
